When I was younger I had a passion for listography. I would spend hours writing my own lists and coloring in the leftover space with smelly markers. I had lists of my favorite chocolate bars, who I wanted to kiss, places I wanted to travel and even dog names so I'd be prepared if my birthday wishes ever came true. Through list-making, you can form your own autobiography and have fun learning about yourself. Like other childhood hobbies, I lost the habit of making lists as I got older.
- Old time Banjo
- Making Terrariums
- How to press and dry flowers, weeds and leaves
- How to keep my hair from tumbling into knots
- Real blues on the guitar
- Courage to read my poetry aloud or sing my own songs
- How to rise before 9am without needing a nap in the afternoon
- The art of belly dancing
- Master all of the recipes my mom taught me to love while growing up
- How to have one house in the country, one in the city & one by the sea (the dream..)
Include your own answers to the list in a comment and/or share an idea for next Monday's list. I look forward to hearing what you want to learn!
Monday's list is a weekly feature. This is the inaugural post.
That's such a wonderful list! I used to be the same, lists lists lists. They always really helped me so I started making them again recently but they haven't helped so far...
ReplyDeleteIf you find out how to keep hair from knotting, please let me know! Old time banjo? So awesome! I've got a ukulele and love playing it. Just for myself though...
These photos are so cute!
ReplyDelete10 things I want to learn/ keep on learning:
1. To play volleyball/ beach volleyball
2. Another language. Spanish being top of my list.
3. To make my own clothes (I'm so bad at following sewing patterns)
4. To knit
5. To draw better
6. Guitar (I gave up because my small fingers made it really difficult)
7. Style my own hair
8. How to work technology better (i.e. turn my blog's appearance into a beautifully looking website)
9. be less shy/ awkward around people
10. Have a house in the country, city and by the sea ;-)
Making terrariums is definitely something I want to learn. I want to learn to cook perfectly too, to make delicious meals, for myself and the ones I love. I'd like to be more confident and less depressed, even it's not that terrible yet ^^. And to sew too ! I want to sew perfect midi skirts, like in the 50's you know, with heavy beautiful fabric. And yes, just skirts !
ReplyDeleteSee U !

Have a wonderful day!

I used to be just the same, with a notebook full of lists. Present ideas, places to go, perfect fashion items I wanted.
ReplyDeleteThere are many many things I want to learn, but mostly Japanese and horse riding.
I actually have a really old banjo. It's literally 100 years old, but I am rubbish at playing it. Family heirloom from a great grandfather who was a professional banjo player but I am so bad at tuning! It's good fun though and I think banjos are beautiful. You should definitely go for it.
What a beautiful family heirloom to have -- I wish I had a family member with an ancient banjo! I bet it is gorgeous!
DeleteMy boyfriend ends up tuning my banjo most of the time heh heh.. and I wish I could learn another language but it seems impossible for me ✿
Love the idea of these posts! Please learn to play real blues on the guitar! I have always been in love with that sound, I'll live vicariously through you! ;) I also want to press flowers more, it's something I used to do as a child with my mom, it's so lovely. Looking forward to more of these, dear!

1. How to bake (OMG I am so bad at this)
2. How to motivate myself to work out. I am so lazy TOO lazy.
3. I want to learn the piano and harmonica. (Both seem so hard to me. Maybe my FINGERS are too small)
I am excited for next Mondays list!
Thank you Cassie!
DeleteI need to learn how to bake too. I'm just terrified of screwing up a recipe -- gotta get some guts and just go for it!
I want to learn the banjo so bad!!! I almost bought one last summer but it sold too soon for me to buy it :( My grandpa plays the banjo... but he lives in Mississippi... I wish I could take lessons from him. Let me know if you purchase one!!! The banjo is sexy!!!!
