Yellow freckled jelly beans. The touch of peach puree, and pear juice breath into the bean-shaped candy. A sugar glaze decorates my tongue. Jelly beans for breakfast. It's Friday.
There's a robin settling by the window. He's echoing a warbled song about spring. If only I spoke the language of wild birds. I'd ask the robin to challenge the sun. I'd ask him to bring me unbuttoned sweaters, flushed cheeks, and unclouded air.
The week was brindled in laughter, and soothing grins. Brightened by family, and sweet pecan coffee.
My family visited us from the Okanagan. Bells rang, and we ignored them, to sleep through the morning.
My cousins dreamed by the moon while I sat awake. Sleep was uninvited, and insomnia was unforgiving. I opened my eyes throughout the dusk to draw poetry. My cousins snored like puppies, and I could feel the breadth of their love. Family, the merriment of my breathings.
We swallowed vietnamese. Won ton soup brimmed with hot feelings. The next day, we drank pecan spiced coffee, and craved more throughout the day. The sun glistened by the glass, and fooled our skin into summer feelings. The wind embarked, and startled the forecast. The weather man defeated the glimmer, and promised snow. It's April. The weather is unforgiving. All I ask for is symmetry.
My bones are glacial, and goose bumps hide soft skin. Fur blankets, fuzzy sweaters, and fireplace cinder cannot keep me warm. I often shiver with cold, and beg the house to warm itself. While everyone shouts "Amy, how can you be cold, you're dreaming in a sauna"... Maybe a lump sum will find it's way to me, then I'll adventure to the tropics, and be fed, forever, by the brightest sun.
Cinnamon Buns dressed in brown sugars, and caramel coating. Cinnamon buns for the family, who eats gluten, and indulges in the sweetened flavors. Today, I'm composing poetry, and muffins. Shredded carrots and coconut will be hidden beneath the baked good. Toothsome tastes. Mmmmm
My Friday begs for quietude and soft bed frames.

Ugh, all of that food talk (AND THOSE CINNAMON BUNS, OMG) is making my stomach grumble. I love any type of baked good to death. Omnomnomnom. It also sounds like you've had some wonderful quality snuggling time wrapped up in warm blankets and such, which I can definitely relate to. April is supposed to be spring, right?! Apparently not... stupid mixture of rain and snow and ugly gray skies. Your gorgeous top is a wonderful contrast to that though, haha! I absolutely love the colors and designs. :)
ReplyDeleteorange looks so pretty on you, love it layered over the maxi and your hat is super cute
