It's Friday. The sixth day of the week. A morning sun tickles my dusty curtains, and a song bird is caught by melody beyond the mayflower. A light so strong, how could I possibly not enjoy the morning? I've plucked my doing-nothings from each day of the week. My head has been so immersed in invitations, and explorations, that I've had no time to feel unsettled. Surely, I'm aging more and more behind in school, but what does it matter? If I'm not chained to my bed and days are filled with exploring the dirt and gold beneath my feet. Then should it matter if I am behind? I certainly think not. Life is for discovery.
When Thursday made it's glowing entrance, I awoke with intentions. There were two invitations to the downtown Bay's cosmetics gala sitting on my dresser. Now, as often as I express love for poetry, wits, and fabrics, I seldom, if ever, share my love for cosmetics. Peachy blushes, glossy pouts, glittery-splashed eye shadows. It's all art to me.
Before the Gala began, me and my ma decided to search through the ocean of sales. No more than 10 minutes after arrival, I purchased leopard leggings($22) and flower-spotted tights($11)

As the set up was complete, and the gala began, a DJ started spinning sounds, and the atmosphere was alive with women of all ages. Me and my ma used to be shy turtles, and skeptics. We'd hide away from anyone who said "Come try this lipstick"... For the first time, we decided to embrace our livelihood and embark on adventure. That being said, both me and my mom had our cheeks shimmered, and our lips glossed. We met a sugar-coated lady with a flower in her hair who painted my lips a similar color to that of a spring Dahlia.
We continued to mingle with cosmetic artists and consultants. One peachy girl at the mac counter introduced me as "flapper girl".. This lead to a conversation about secret belongings to the 20's, and how our way of style was born long before we became people.
After the search for color palettes, and pink-hued make up, I splashed so many different floral perfumes and allowed my fur to attach to the mist. Suddenly, my jacket was transformed into a garden. With shut-eyes, and a breath, I was reminded of springtime and the scents of flowers tickling my nose.
Smelling like springtime, feeling like summer, my belly was growling. Suddenly, a table of treats magically appeared. Of course, me and ma indulged. Pink tart sprinkled with a cinnamon heart, warmed cheese bun, and orange punch to coat my hunger and renew my batteries.

We continued to adventure through cosmetic land, purchasing blushes, and creams. I splurged on a Nars blush. It was eye-pleasing, and I was too tempted. No regrets. Also, if your wallet spits more than $70 worth of cosmetics, you get free things at this gala. The free things include nail polish, a photograph, and a psychic reading. Without question, we had our nails polished, a photograph snapped, and Amy the skeptic had a psychic reading. I'll tell you, it was unsettling at first... The way she took my hand and elucidated my dreams. No more a skeptic..
The gala was sprightly and chipper. Friendly faces painted the walkways, and the bright glow of shared preciousness with my mother made for a delightful day! Tomorrow is the Coach celebration invite. There will be candy, some bubbly, and of course, coach. I'm beaming with joy. Also, my deepest gratitude is for Matthew. This post is for you. Without your kindness, and generous way, the gala, and a starry-eyed Thursday wouldn't have been possible. Much love always.
Off to breakfast. Raspberry yogurt with Apple Cinnamon oatmeal.
