wake at dawn

how i love the early morning air. the sun is beaming through my windowsill. if my eyes didn't know any better, they'd think it was summer. the curtains are dead, dressed in dust. too many times I've covered the sun in curtains, and I've been missing out.

 I'm resting my back on a feather pillow, I'm resting my ears while music plays. My tongue is craving icy lemon water. Sadly, to get to the lemon water, I need to move. And right now, moving is not on the mind. My feet are being cuddled, entwined in blankets, and my head doesn't ache. If I move, nothing will ever be the same.

We made it. It's Friday. Friday is surely a cure, a medicine, a therapy.  The promise of Saturday, and fluffy white pillows disguised as clouds, means no need for 7 o'clock mornings, or 9 o'clock bedtimes. Friday is the puddle by the pond, glistening in reflection. Friday knocks, and I'm thinking of the blues I had Monday, the nerves I had Wednesday, and the laughter I had Thursday. Another week! and I'm alive!  The week consisted of poetry, studying, and mmmusic. (kind of like every other week)..

Me and my boyfriend went to a local tea house where an open mic is held every Tuesday. We both over-caffeinated our bodies, and felt the shakes due to empty stomachs.  So we tempted taste buds with a vegetarian panini, I'll say, our taste buds approve.  The music, and aura of the tea house made me feel like I'd arrived. Arrived somewhere divine. It was as though I had grown wings. Live music is magical.. I can't think of anything else quite like it.

Happiness belonged to my week. I've been feeling high spirits by morning light. Maybe it's fleeting, but I'm feeling awfully rested and hopeful. Spontaneity is guiding me through the day... Maybe I'll grab the coins sleeping on my dresser, catch a bus with an unknown route, explore the city, get lost.
