Day 2- The weardrobe conference brought a lot of firsts for me. First time in New York. First time being in a city painted with skyscrapers. First time going anywhere for fashion. First time going anywhere for me. First time being surrounded in a room full style. First time taking a taxi. And first time taking a subway...
eat records
The subway took us to our breakki spot. A place called Eat Records. We went there to meet fred flare(a groovy boutique), and indulge in tasty treats. The whole atmosphere was calm, peaceful, and eclectic.
keiko lynn, and the glamorai
After a delicious meal, we went to the local fredflare store. That entire boutique was a dream! Full of camera's, journals, sunglasses, necklaces. I've always been an accessory girl, and that place was a toy store for me. They also sent the friendly reminder to "stay cute!"
beacon's closet/fleamarket
After fred flare, came beacon's closet. If your ever in New York, take a step in. It's a beautiful vintage thrift store. Full of dresses, colors, boots, and hats. The sun shone so brightly, as if the gates of thrift store heaven opened up for me. The prices were well too. After spending $21 on shoes, and a floral dress, we headed to the loveliest little flea market.(look at the welcome sign!)
The best part of the day came next. Pacsun sent weardrobe a collection of jeans, with one thought in mind, DIY. I have messy hands, could never sew, can't paint within the lines,.. So when weardrobe screamed "DIY" I screamed "Oh no!" .....
That "oh no" quickly turned into "let's play!".. and soon, I was holding a light wash pair of jeans.
After shredding , and studding my jeans, Cutie little Sara emptied a bag full of buttons. The table became button and studding galore. I happily found a daisy button, and thought to take it home and sew it on the back pocket. Within the last minute, I poked some safety pins under the studs. These jeans are skinny, and comfortable. Two words I never thought I'd use in the same sentence. Thank you to pacsun, la la la love you.
The night ended with a meal and drinks at the Fat Hippo. After bonding, and cupcakes(thanks to keiko(keiko lynn), I took a taxi home with Sara(style magnet), Arabelle(fashion pirates), and Tavi(style rookie). We all had "our moment"
I miss and love you girls.
